REVIEW: Play Me Again, Vanessa (1986)
THIS is probably the GREATEST Vanessa Del Rio film ever made despite…ahem, stiff competition from the likes of Aphrodesia’s Diary and Deep Inside Vanessa Del Rio. It hits all the right buttons, and even overcomes the obvious negative of having been made on video.
This would’ve been one of Vanessa’s last fillums before her retirement, so it’s nice she left the best to last. What makes Play Me Again a real winner is the stunning A-list cast including Taija Rae, Nina Hartley, Paul Thomas, Jerry Butler, Dick Rambone and Joey Silvera.
The storyline’s lightweight: Taija wants to snare boyfriend Rene (Francois Papillon at his most obnoxious…there’s even a pseudo-gay fantasy scene where he flexes on the beach wearing a leopard-skin G-string…very off-putting), so she watches Vanessa vids for hot sex tips.
VDR finally emerges from the TV screen to give Taija some real-life bedroom hints. Taija’s disconcertingly chubby (and sports a few bruises in her one big sex scene with Francois), but she’s still kinda cute, so it’s a pity she and VDR don’t have a liaison.
However, Vanessa does multiple scenes with everyone else including
* A sci-fi themed threesome with Marc Wallice and female chum
* A three-way (including anal) with Paul Thomas and another fella
* A gang-bang with a bunch of construction workers (with big kudos to supporting lass Lili Marlene, who does a DP and a deep-throater on humongous Dick Rambone), AND
* A hot, hot threesome with a very young Nina Hartley (who looks incredibly gorgeous, even with dark hair and sporting a beret) and Mike Horner.
Vanessa even puts on her famous “Carmen Miranda” outfit from The Dancers for a brief comedy bit with Ralphus the midget from Bloodsucking Freaks.
What’s not to love about this movie?
